About me
Hi! I'm Carlye, a video game Sound Designer based in Seattle. I’ve been working in games for almost a decade and love that this career continues to challenge me in both creative and technical ways. Problem solving, optimizing workflows, fixing all those strange bugs-- all while making beautiful, scary, weird, funny sounds-- is so great!
I've worked on a handful of games both with an audio team and on my own, recording and designing audio and implementing my own work. My technical strengths include deep knowledge of Wwise, Unity, FMOD, and Unreal Engine Blueprints. I also thoroughly enjoy fiddling with Reaper and my Streamdeck to find quicker, easier ways to edit and design sounds.
Early in my career I spent four years diving into VR and have released games on Vive, Oculus, Daydream, and PSVR. Though VR audio techniques have often been pinned as specific to the VR medium, I wholeheartedly believe they are valuable techniques for non-VR games as well.
Currently I work at Bungie on Marathon which I can't talk about, but I get to work with some talented folks and lead efforts on maps, activities, mix, and the Wwise project. Before Marathon I worked on Destiny 2 for 3 years and lead several seasonal releases.
When not making sounds I like to garden, box, play video games, cuddle with my cats, and spend time with my husband Drew.
